Rooster & Wolf Fine Brandy – 70cl

This French brandy has much in common with Cognac in terms of its production method: distilled in pot stills in the Cognac region, matured in Limousin and Tronçais oak – but the source material is a more cosmopolitan mix of wines from a number of French regions, including Cognac, Armagnac, Burgundy and the Languedoc; and grape varieties including Colombard, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Blanc.

Serving Suggestions: This is a muscly, robust distillate that lends itself to mixing and will hold its own in any number of classic and modern cocktails.

Tasting Notes

Zesty, vibrant nose with lots of bright mandarin and creamy oak. Some floral notes and a lightness of touch, but no little power too. On the palate, more mature hints of darker, dried fruit: think sultanas, currants, prunes and tarry notes of liquorice. Nutmeg, ginger and a lot of punchy intensity.
